StarOfService Raises $10 Million in Series A Funding

StarOfService has successfully raised $10 million in Series A investment into the company. The release announced that the French start-up, founded in 2013, had raised $2 million in previous rounds of funding.

The company aims to take their service global with ambitious expansion plans.

The statement suggests that the services marketplace, which deals with the European market, has handled more than two million requests for consumers looking for local services. The company’s platform allows local service providers to offer everything from language teaching to wedding photography and even Pokémon Go services.

Business volume exceeded €800 million last year, and the company’s press release indicates that the service is growing at a rate of 400% year-on-year.

Andrea Piccioni and Silvio Pagliani led the funding round. The two investors created the largest real estate platforms in Italy: Immobiliare.it and Real Web SA. Numerous other investors invested in the company during the round, including executives and founders of high-profile companies, such as eBay.

CEO and co-founder of StarOfService stated, “This investment round will help us accelerate that growth further, to become the global leader in the next couple of years. As part of that ambition, we will be recruiting talent to build a global team that shares our vision and can deliver on that huge opportunity.”

Investors state that the company has a lot of potential, and that the impressive ability to realize growth and proceed under the company’s vision is a bright spot for StarOfService. Investors are certain that the company will be able to enter into the global marketplace.

StarOfService currently offers services around Europe, with a strong presence in Italy, Span, U.K. and Germany. The company also offers its services in Australia, Brazil, Canada and India. The company, a French brand, offers different portals under the brand for each country, tailored to their official language.
